Independent Greg Orman has been leading in the polls in Kansas against incumbent Republican Sen. Pat Roberts, ever so slightly. He calls himself a moderate that is dissatisfied with the ineptitude of Washington in hammering out deals across the aisle. That message has resonated in the usually very conservative state of Kansas. Orman has stressed that he does not know who he will caucus with in the Senate, and will decide that when the time comes.
However, that may have changed. Today, in a radio interview, Vice President Joe Biden said that Greg Orman 'will be with us', signifying that Orman will be solidly with the Democrats when elected. If this is true, there are many Kansas residents that may be led to believing that they were fooled into believing that Orman would be a moderate to the core.
After this news broke, Sen. Pat Roberts' campaign has sent robo calls throughout the state with VP Biden's voice saying that Orman will be with the Democrats, as a last ditch effort to put Roberts over the top. The idea that Orman is a Democrat masquerading as an Independent has long been put forward by conservatives.
Orman's campaign has pushed that Orman has never even spoke to Joe Biden before, and that he agrees with Republicans on many issues as well.
Kansas polls close at 7:00 PM EST.
