This summer AMC will launch a spinoff of its hit series “The Walking Dead,” and on Saturday morning, creator Robert Kirkman revealed the name of the spinoff series.
“IT’S OFFICIAL! The walking dead companion show on AMC is called FEAR THE WALKING DEAD! Expect more news very soon! #FearTheWalkingDead,” Kirkman posted on his Twitter.
“Fear the Walking Dead” has been confirmed for two seasons already and will take place in Los Angeles rather than Atlanta. Its purpose is to show viewers how survivors from different parts of the world are coping with the apocalypse.
Kim Dickens (Miranda), Cliff Curtis (Sean Cabrera), Frank Dillane (Nick), and Alycia Debnam Carey (Ashley) have been confirmed as the lead actors and actresses for the series.
Season one has already been set for six one-hour episodes and will debut this summer. The amount of episodes for season two are unknown, but it will of course air in summer 2016.
In addition, after Sunday’s 90-minute season finale of “The Walking Dead,” the first trailer for “Fear the Walking Dead” will debut.
Nothing else is known at this point, but expect more information on “Fear the Walking Dead” in the coming weeks after the season finale of “The Walking Dead.”
