Jesus and Lena go to a tattoo removal specialist and start the process of getting the tattoo removed. But, only after the doctor tells them that there is seven weeks healing between and it will take a minimum of ten sessions to remove the tattoo completely. Brandon asks the moms if they have decided if he can go on tour and Stef replies that they have and that he can go on tour with the band. Mariana then freaks out and reminds the moms that Brandon sold fake ids at school, to which Stef replies that there will be conditions to him being allowed to go on tour. Brandon asks the conditions and one of the conditions is that the parents of the other members must be met and that they have to stay in motels on their trip. To which the band considers going without Brandon, and that makes him upset.
Callie and Jude talk about why Connor and then it moves onto the visitations that Callie and Robert have to have. Jude wonders why Callie won’t just play along and call him Dad. Stef and Lena start to have a talk about what Lena is working on, and then Stef continues to obsess over the decisions that Mike is making by having Ana move in with him. But, when Stef tries to go back to talking about what Lena is working on, Lena decides to just go to sleep.
Callie goes to the shop where Jude bought her bracelet for Christmas to find a present for Sophia and the lady seems a little skittish. She remembers the bracelet and the toy that Callie bought there too, and then when Callie doesn’t have money she uses Robert’s credit card and when walking out of the store, the sales lady looks a little suspicious like she is trying to figure it all out. Stef meets up with Mike’s sponsor for AA and they talk meanwhile Jude and Connor separate in science class when Connor and his new girlfriend decide they should be partners. Then, Jude and Connor decide to go with Connor’s girlfriend and her friend to see a movie.
Mat brings lunch to Mariana, but she declines and says she has to talk to Tia about their dance team, and then basically breaks up with Mat because he’s going on tour and she has a lot to do with STEM club and studying for midterms. Stef and Mike get into a fight after she goes to talk to his sponsor without his knowledge and he basically tells her to get out of his life. But Stef just tries to say that she’s protecting her children. Mariana has lied to Mat about dance team auditions and instead goes to talk to Ana, who talks on the phone to Mike about rescheduling her doctor’s appointment. Callie talks to Daphne about her visitations with Robert and then tells Callie that she will have a supervised visitation with her daughter. Ana tells Mariana that she shouldn’t be there unsupervised, but Mariana says she isn’t there to see her but to tell Ana that she doesn’t think that she can’t take care of another child, and that she doesn’t want another girl to get hurt like she did.
Jesus and Emma decide that she will tutor him for the math midterms coming up. Robert shows up to pick up Callie for their visitation, and realizes the connection that she has with the Fosters. Jesus decides to apologize to Emma for not telling her about hooking up with Hayley and then shows Emma his tattoo that is in the process of being removed. Robert and Callie talk about photography while they are having dinner, and then Callie asks about Sophia and he tells her that the doctors think she has a personality disorder and they want to keep her at the treatment center. Then, Callie tells Robert he got Sophia a gift, which he says she will love.
Jesus and Emma have an argument over the tattoo and whether or not they can be friends and she can be his math tutor. Meanwhile, Callie and Robert talk more art over dessert, and seem to forge some sort of bond and discuss going to an exhibit. She tells Robert that they can still have a relationship even if the Fosters adopt her. But, then they get into an argument about him wanting to parent her when she asks about Jude. He said if he had known about her sooner, he would have adopted Jude before the Fosters did.
Connor and Jude decide they are going to sit in the back with their dates when one of them brings up that it would be quieter. Taylor tells Jude that Connor and his date will probably make out so it might get awkward to which Jude replies it won’t be. Stef sees Brandon and asks him about his band practice, to which he replies there is no band practice and that he needs to get a job to save $2000 for hotels while on the road because the band members don’t have to listen to what she says so he needs money and that they’d go on tour without him because of the conditions that the parents set for him.
At the movies, Jude and Connor are watching the movie with Taylor and her friend and they put their arms on the armrest and their pinkies touch and then cross and they look relieved, like they were hiding the fact that they may be gay from everyone for fear of what might be said. Band practice ends and the band members have an awkward vibe between them after what happened. Brandon thinks that they shouldn’t play his songs if he’s not going to be with them. Lou then asks him if he expects them to give up this chance because his moms and dad won’t let him go if they don’t stay in motels. They kiss, and then Brandon says he just wants to be alone.
Mat shows up to talk to Mariana and wants to find out why she just randomly decided to break up with him. They talk about the tour and how he will only be gone for three weeks, and then he tells Mariana he loves her and she says that she loves him too. She then decides to hatch a plan to get the moms to let her go on tour with Brandon and the band. Brandon also thinks about the music program his music teacher wants him to go to and starts to play on his keyboard. It looks like he is having second thoughts about wanting to go with the band, but nothing is said about it.
Lena is working on the weekend in her office at Anchor Beach and Monte runs into her who wonders why Lena is working. They talk about Timothy and declare that the decision they make is theirs to make together. Two detectives show up to ask Callie questions about her shopping at the store where she purchased Sophia’s hairpins and talk to her about what she bought on Christmas Eve and think that she kidnapped someone. She is allowed to call someone and decides to call Robert since he is her parent, while Ana shows up to tell the moms that Mariana came to see her at Mike’s and talk to her about the baby.
Ana has thought about the baby and Mariana’s discussion and decides she wants to have Stef and Lena adopt the baby. Robert shows up saying that he is Callie’s father and promises to take care of whatever happens.
