One week before opening their two-parter, Castle delved deeper into the P.I. world, but explored darker territory than he had previously.

After taking up a case for his old high school friend Eva to figure out if her husband was cheating on her, Castle stumbles across something much worse. After conducting an investigation, Castle finds that indeed Eva's husband was cheating on her, and goes to deliver pictures confirming his wrongdoing to her when he witnesses her murder.

The episode has flashes of the 100th Castle episode, in which the writer's took Hitchcock's "Rear Window" and turned it into a very good episode. However, this time around, Castle had the help of his wife Kate Beckett and although it's only his word in the beginning, the case starts to take shape. Eva's husband is questioned and suspected heavily, along with his mistress.

While Castle comes to the conclusion that this was all a staged murder and that Eva is indeed alive somewhere, Beckett gets a phone call indicating that Eva's body was found in the Hudson River, which changes the ballgame completely. With Eva's husband as their number one suspect, eventually a warrant is issued for his arrest and once Detective Beckett takes a few steps into the large house that he owns, she finds him hanging, set up as a suicide.

Dead ends seemed to be all over the place in this one, but a determined Castle would not let this one slip away as he works with his buddies at the 12th to get to the bottom of this one. The ending was a roller-coaster and certainly worth the watch.

The P.I. storyline seems to be slowly winding down, and it's only a matter of time before Castle heads back to the precinct to work alongside his wife and buddies solving murders. The two-parter, featuring Dr. Kelly Niemann and 3XK, premieres next Monday at 10/9 central on ABC.
