Full Spoilers follow!
The Flash starts of this week with Barry racing through the streets saving people with the help of Cisco. After rushing into a burning fire and saving several people we see Barry show signs of discomfort before racing back to STAR labs. Dr. Snow scolds him for racing into danger and reminds him they only agreed to go after meta-humans. Barry gets a call from Joe West that he is late to a crime scene and Barry races off to inspect.
The suspects at the crime scene all had the exact same shoe and shoe size which was odd to Barry and after analyzing some cells from the scene it appears the suspect is made up if stem cells. Iris shows up at the lab and reminds Barry that they had plans to attend a science conference for her article that afternoon.
At the science conference the people from the earlier crime scene show up to rob everyone. When a security guard tries to stop them Barry has to save him from being shot while trying not to reveal his powers to Iris. After saving the guard Barry runs outside to stop the criminals but passes out before he can get to them.
Back at STAR labs Barry reveals to Snow and Cisco what has been going on after using his powers and Cisco creates a treadmill that Barry can run full speed on for a test. They determine he is running out of glucose while using his powers and needs to start consuming massive calories to prevent it from happening. Mean while we see Danton Black attacking Simon Staggs' security guard for not giving him more information to kill him with. Danton Black is Multiplex in the DC universe; his powers allow him to create copies of himself.
After Barry figured out Stagg is Blacks' target he goes to Stagg industries to try and stop him. After being beaten by Black, Barry loses his confidence and decides Joe is right that he just isn't cut out for fighting. Harrison Wells convinces Joe to support Barry because he is the only one we can hope to fight some one like Black. Joe tells Barry to go fight him in a very touching moment that leads to Barry returning to Stagg industries just in time to save Simon Stagg from Black.
Armed with knowledge from Snow and Cisco that taking out the originally Black would stop all the copies, Barry tears through the copies searching for Black. Once Barry knocks out the originally Black he his talking to Cisco when Black tries to attack him from behind after waking up. Barry dodges him and Black goes out a window and Barry grabs his hands trying to save him. Black slips through Barry's hands and falls to his death, leaving Barry shaken by the scene
The closing scene shows Wells in Staggs office discussing the Flash. In a surprising move both to Stagg and viewers Wells stabs him saying it is to protect the flash. This should be interesting explored in later episodes as to just what Wells is up too. Also, Barry continues to struggle to deal with his feelings for Iris, trying several times to tell her how he feels. With almost revealing his powers to her in this episode it will be challenging for Barry to keep his promise to Joe and not let Iris know what he can do. This will be made extra challenging as she is shown gaining more and more interest in the Flash.
