At IFA this week, Acer released a plethora of new devices. One of which is the world's first convertible Chromebook, and the other a PC that can be customized in an interesting way.

Chromebook R11

This device marks Acer's newest addition to the Chromebook series and it's Acer's first "convertible" Chromebook.

The device features an 11-inch touch-screen display that supports 10-point multi-touch and features a 1366x768 pixel resolution.

The user gets to decide at purchase whether they would like it to be powered by the Intel Celeron N3050 or N3150 processor.

The R11 offers up to 4GB of RAM, and you can choose between 16GB and 32GB of storage.

It will be available in October starting at $299 USD.

Revo Build

The Revo build takes an interesting approach: targeting those who prefer to build their own computer, the Build allows users to create their own PC in a style similar to Lego toy buidling blocks.

Basically, you buy a series of "Blocks" that have different features and add them to your tower by snapping them to the top. This allows users to customize their computers without opening the chassis.

A snippet of a press release from Acer:

"'Blocks' such as the 500GB/1TB hot-swappable Portable Hard Drive will be available at launch, while a Wireless Power Bank for wireless charging, an Audio Block with speakers and microphones, and other expansion 'Blocks' will be rolled out gradually."

The "base block" comes with an Intel Pentium or Celeron processor with Intel HD graphics. The system comes with 8GB DDR4 RAM, but that can "be easily upgraded by just loosening one screw."

Pricing and availability for the US is not yet determined.
