It's that time of the year. September is right around the corner, and that means that the next iPhone is soon to be announced.

Speculations are arising a month ahead of the release, and owners of past generation phones who are set to upgrade to Apple's latest are getting excited.

We decided to list ten of the top features we want to see in the upcoming iPhone 6S.

Wireless Charging

With multiple Android phones (Samsung Galaxy S6, LG G4, among many others) supporting wireless charging to some extent, we would naturally expect Apple's upcoming handsets to do the same. It's 2015, and it is becoming less cool to drag your charging cable everywhere.

Better Battery Life

Speaking of carrying your charger everywhere, we could really use a better battery life. Apple has promised improved battery life for the upcoming update to their mobile device software, iOS 9, but we want more than just an hour or two of additional usage time. With components of the phone getting smaller, we'd rather see a bigger battery than have a phone fractions of a millimeter thinner.

A 4-inch Size Option

With the iPhone 6, Apple made the smallest option a 4.7-inch screen. Those of us that loved our iPhone 5 would like to be able to go back to that size that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand.

Camera Improvements

More specifically, improvements to the front camera. The iPhone 6 carries a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera, and we'd like to see something more in the range of ten or higher. The rear camera could most definitely use an upgrade from 8 megapixels, too.

1080p Video Recording

Most phones now support 1080p, and it has sort of become the standard for video quality. The iPhone seems to have been stuck on 720p forever while the rest of the world has already upgraded. What's up with that?

Tempered Glass Screen

You hear about it every day: one of your friends dropped their iPhone and now they have to go to the shop to get their screen replaced. That is, of course, if they weren't using a tempered glass screen protector. Tempered glass has a hardness of 9H, just below diamond, which has a hardness of 10H. It also is extremely difficult to scratch.

An IR Blaster

You see people with Android handsets using their phones to control their TVs and cable boxes all too often. This makes Apple users cringe and wish they could do the same. Although it isn't a necessity, it's pretty cool.

Waterproof?

Ever since the iPhone came out, we've been having to buy waterproof/dustproof cases for our phone to either voluntarily or unvoluntarily take it into the water. It'd be nice if the phone was already waterproof and dustproof so we didn't have to spend the extra cash on a case that provides the function.

Faster Touch ID

Currently, Touch ID takes just over a second to register. We hope to see this speed increase soon. Fingerprint sensors that provide the same function are getting better and better, meanwhile.

Better Speakers

With phones integrating Beats speakers into them, Apple's speakers sound a bit... dull. We would like to see some larger speakers with some form of bass being exuded.
