The Scottish Borders have become the latest area to vote against the country's independence in the referendum.
The constituency was expected to be a unionist stronghold and that is how the result turned out, with 66.6 per cent of the vote going the way of the Better Together campaign to keep Scotland in the union.
87.4 per cent of the area's electorate turned out to vote.
It continued a tremendous night at the polls for the unionist campaign, who now hold a commanding lead approaching the end of the campaign.
