With their big win over Team Solo Mid and a win over the then other undefeated team NRG, North America's new team Immortals now sits atop the LCS standings.
A team full of big names including Huni, Reignover, Pobelter, WildTurtle, and Adrian, Immortals features experience, talent, and synergy starting off the Spring Split of the North American LCS.
On Saturday, Immortals snagged a win over TSM after a failed baron attempt that snowballed their way to a huge victory. Wildturtle posted a 4-2-6 score, Adrian went deathless on Janna going 1-0-15, and Immortals closed out the game in 38 minutes with a 7K gold lead.
In Sunday's matchup against then undefeated NRG, Immortals completely obliterated NRG. Across the board Immortals did great. Pobelter went 7-1, Wildturtle went 8-1, and Reignover went 1-0-9.
Part of the success with this team comes with their incredible synergy after just barely being together. Huni and Reignover both came from Fnatic, having that bond, and it seems Wildturtle and Adrian are clicking great. Both Wildturtle and Adrian were in similar situations, so it makes a bit of sense how they synergize together, but not many expected Immortals to jump out to a two-game lead over 4th place, and a 4-0 record through two weeks. They've played good competition as well from TSM, NRG, and Cloud 9.
Immortals looks like the strongest team in the region right now. Part of this is because we've seen a meltdown from Cloud 9 and Team Liquid, TSM hasn't meshed together yet, and CLG looks like they have a few kinks they need to work out. TSM is the one this writer thinks to challenge Immortals. They played solid in their match against them up until the baron call which essentially snowballed the game completely against them.
This is a very bizarre start to the Spring Split. So many question marks surround teams that have been at the top of the LCS for multiple splits. A lot of new faces, and a lot of exciting topics surround this upcoming split.
