In an incredibly fast match, Fnatic domianted Cloud 9 in the fastest game of worlds this year at 22 minutes. Fnatic went into a different team composition, with an ADC Kennan and support Shen. It was a surprise to everyone, but it ended up working in their favor. Fnatic had 26 kills in 21 minutes. It was an incredible show they put together and really showed the worlds how good Fnatic is when they play like themselves.
Cloud 9 had shown one main team composition. A tower pushing, objective-control composition that can eat you alive by turning small advantages into large advantages. Fnatic decided to just get up in Cloud 9's face and Cloud 9 had no idea what to do. They seemed lost, surprised, and even nervous. By the time they actually tried making plays, Fnatic outrotated them and out-split pushed them. It was a huge beating from Fnatic. Now, Cloud 9 must face off against AHQ. Cloud 9 needs 1 win to lock in a spot at groups. Can they do it? Or is the reverse sweep a real thing?
Fnatic looks locked in to now at least advance out of groups. Whether they get the 1-seed or not is a different story, but they looked finally like their old selves and looked dominant again. It will be interesting to see what kind of composition they choose to go for against AHQ and Invictus today and see how they can use this win over Cloud 9 to better themselves for those two matches to end groups. Fnatic is back and better than ever.
