League of Legends Worlds: KT Rolster Takes Down Origen, Snags 1st Seed
LoL Esports

Coming into the second weekend of the group stages, Origen had a 3-0 record and a firm grip on the 1-seed in Group D. KT Rolster had other plans in mind. Rolster went 3-0 on the day, ending with a win over Origen to take the 1st seed.

In a match that lasted 40 minutes, KT Rolster decided to use their early game pressure to focus on the toplane of Soaz, who would finish with a score of 0-9-3. Niels was the bright spot for Origen, as he played Kogmaw with a final score of 12-3-4. KT Rolster just could not be stopped. They looked like a different team coming into today's matches, and really looking like the second best team at Worlds behind SKT. Rolster has what you need in a Finals-making team: A carry toplane, and arguably the best toplane in the world Ssumday, a strong midlane in Nagne, and a botlane with Arrow and Piccaboo that rarely will be considered an underdog.

Ssumday went full-carry with darius totaling 12 kills, Arrow brought in another 6, and Nagne held his own going 4-4. It was Piccaboo's first professional game on Shen, as Montecristo pointed out Shen wasn't a big support pick in Korea.

Now there is only 1 group left that needs to be sorted, group B. Cloud 9 holds an advantage right now but as we saw today anything can happen. It would be odd for Fnatic to not be a top-2 seed and look like they did last weekend. Can Cloud 9 hold off Fnatic for the top seed? Or will another team jump from that group and shock the world? Find out next time on LoL Esports!
