League of Legends Worlds: Origen Upsets LGD Gaming
LoL Esports

Origen's xPeke seems to always come in the clutch when it is needed. Origen pulled out a huge upset over China's number 1 seed LGD Gaming, with xPeke and Niels both going off. xPeke posted a 6-1-9 score while Niels also recorded 6 kills, but with 0 deaths and 9 assists.

At just over 30 minutes we saw a big teamfight between both teams. Origen used a huge combo. Niels grabbed Mithy and threw Annie onto Imp and Pyl, which then Annie used her Tibbers ultimate and stun and xPeke came in to combo that with an Orianna ult onto 4 people. This left Acorn by himself and resulted in an xPeke quadra kill. It couldn't have gotten more perfect of an engage for Origen. They used their comp to what it's potential is and they executed it well which led them to a big upset over LGD.

The talk of the town is always,"How can these European mid-laners do internationally?" From what we've seen from xPeke, Febiven, eve Ryu, these mid-laners are dominant and here to impact their groups. Fnatic and Origen look solid and Origen actually looks like they could even advance in this group. We saw earlier this morning that TSM also looked solid. Their early game against KT was quality and it looks like it could be a really fun group stage.

For LGD, TBQ really needs to step his game up. In their fight when xPeke got a quadra kill, TBQ used Vi ultimate on the Annie. He was likely trying to stop an Annie ult but that Vi ult has to go down onto Kalista in a teamfight like that.
