League of Legends Worlds: Fnatic Dominates Invictus Gaming In First Game Of Group Stage

Invictus Gaming and Fnatic started off this Worlds Group Stage in Day 1 with a quality game. Invictus started it with a lane swap, sending Ashe(Kid) top lane. Fnatic countered it but grouping 4 bot and shoving it but they didn't actually get the turret. Zz1tai covered the turret well and so the global gold that Fnatic received from turret didn't come until 7 minutes. Fnatic grabbed their first dragon at just after 12 minutes, and Fnatic would hold a 1K gold lead around that timer as well. Reignover grabs first blood as Fnatic grouped a 4-man tank on top and right after Rekkles got top turret, he used Sivir ultimate to speed up for the attack. This moved the gold lead to 3 thousand.

Fnatic used this early advantage to snowball this game after grabbing a baron buff they shoved down turrets and put IG sitting at their base. They waited to do anything that was slightly risky until baron came back up. Fnatic started the baron buff and it forced IG to come out and Huni teleported behind them and it created a triple kill out of Rekkles that actually made Invictus Gaming surrender.

Fnatic started off their Worlds adventure strong with a dominating win over IG, who is supposed to be competing with them for the group. A few notables are that Darius, Lulu, Gangplank, were all banned, which could be a recurring thing game by game teams don't want to play against it. Fnatic showed that they are still dominant in the international play like they showed at MSI, and they are a solid team in this group. It will be difficult for other teams in Group B to compete with Fnatic.
