Microsoft had a tremendous E3 press conference and all eyes were on Sony if they could match their rival console. Playstation destroyed expectations and had the best conference of the day. They unveiled some exceptional games for 2016 and beyond. Here are the five reasons why Sony had the best E3 showing.
1. The Last Guardian Gameplay Footage- This game has been worked on for years and Sony started off their show with a bang by showing gameplay footage of the masterpiece. The Last Guardian wasn’t expected to appear in E3 but everyone was glad that it was. The game looks jaw-dropping and has a compelling story. The flying ferret rodent dog beast thing looked miraculous in the short shown footage. The Last Guardian will be released on PS4 in 2016.
2. No Man’s Sky Giant Sandbox- Some gamers are perfectionists and want to discover everything that a game holds. This game will be impossible to finish exactly. The developers showcased how there are endless amounts of solar systems and planets to explore. They even journeyed to a random planet that the designers had never been before, just to showcase how big it really was. No Man’s Sky has no official release date but it’s expected to release in 2015.
3 Two New Games World Premiere- The game Dream was announced as an odd E3 surprise. In the game you are able to create your own “dream” and explore other people’s creation. It looked strange but very creative. Then, Horizon: Zero Dawn was showcased. It involved a girl in a post- Earth where robots have taken command. All of the creatures are robots and now the tribes have to fight them off. The main protagonist is shown killing a gigantic robot dinosaur with a futuristic bow. Dreams has no set release date and Horizon: Zero Dawn doesn’t either.
4. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Announced- This set a blaze among everyone in the crowd. People couldn’t believe that they were finally remaking Final Fantasy 7. This is a beloved game from 1997 and it really set Final Fantasy among one of the best gaming franchises. The trailer looked gorgeous. The release date has not been announced yet but PS4 owners will receive it first before Xbox One owners.
5. Uncharted 4 demo showcased- What a way to end the already amazing night for Sony. Uncharted 4 is one of the most anticipated games of 2016 and could very well be one of the best games of the last couple of years. With the announcement of the Nathan Drake Collection earlier in the month, the wait for the game seems easier. The demo was shown with Nathan and Sullivan getting chased in a jeep by some bad guys. Then Drake jumps off the jeep and his body crashes into a platform of wood and the demo closes. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is scheduled to release in 2016.
Sony completely blew everyone away with their conference. They showcased some top notch games and has everyone on the edge of their seats for 2016. This is just five of many reasons why Playstation proved to be the superior gaming system. Take that Microsoft.
